Nindya Karya accelerates construction of Serdang Bedagai Sekolah Rakyat

PT Nindya Karya (Persero) is accelerating the construction of a Sekolah Rakyat in Serdang Bedagai, North Sumatra, to support access to quality education for the local community. Nindya Karya President Director Firmansyah stated that the physical progress of the project undertaken by the state-owned construction firm has reached 53.71 percent, surpassing the planned target of 50.03 percent. “This visit was conducted to ensure this national strategic project in the education sector is progressing on target and can be utilised in the upcoming new academic year,” he said during a direct inspection of the Sekolah Rakyat construction site in Serdang Bedagai on Friday. Firmansyah noted the building stands on 5.4 hectares of land. The construction of the Sekolah Rakyat in Serdang Bedagai is part of President Prabowo Subianto’s priority programme aimed at breaking the chain of extreme poverty through the provision of equitable, inclusive, and quality education access for the community. Firmansyah emphasised that the construction acceleration continues to prioritise quality and safety, ensuring all work is completed on time without compromising the final build quality. He instructed his team to maximise all available resources, from materials and labour to equipment, to make the work more effective and efficient. He confirmed the Serdang Bedagai Sekolah Rakyat is being prepared as a functional building capable of optimally supporting teaching and learning activities. “We are innovating to accelerate work execution, while remaining within the corridor of technical specifications and applicable construction regulations,” he said. He further stressed the importance of on-site innovation to address project execution challenges while still prioritising the quality of the final result. With a total built-up area of 17,400 square metres, the Serdang Bedagai Sekolah Rakyat is expected to become a representative educational facility capable of accommodating thousands of students. “The presence of this school not only impacts the improvement of human resource quality but is also expected to provide a multiplier effect for the surrounding community’s economy,” he explained. He added that the Serdang Bedagai Sekolah Rakyat project is targeted for completion in June 2026, along with Phase II Sekolah Rakyat projects spread across 104 locations throughout Indonesia. “The quality of the final result remains the top priority so that the building can be used safely, properly, and sustainably,” he asserted. Firmansyah revealed that the Sekolah Rakyat renovation contributes significantly to the company’s positive performance, demonstrating the ability to combine timeliness, cost efficiency, and technological innovation in every job. Beyond the assignment scheme, the state-owned construction firm has successfully completed a number of national priority infrastructure projects on time. “All these achievements not only strengthen Nindya Karya’s position as a reliable contractor but also represent our commitment to combining timeliness, cost efficiency, and technological innovation in every job,” Firmansyah said.
