NIKE clarifies baby case

I would like to clarify some inaccuracies that appeared in The Jakarta Post on March 24, 1998 on page three in an article titled 'When stressed dad rocks cradle'.

On behalf of NIKE Inc. and PT Pratama Abadi Industri, we would like to inform you that Dulgani, the father who was detained on charges of killing his own baby, was never fired from Pratama Abadi Industri as he has never been employed in any capacity by the company.

Marsipah, the mother of the deceased child, has however been an employee of Pratama since May 8, 1995. We would like to extend our regrets and condolences for her loss in his difficult time.

We know The Jakarta Post is as concerned about the well-being of Marsipah as we are at Nike and Pratama; we also feel confident that you will want to inform your readers of the correct facts pertaining to this sad incident.
