Jakarta – The Central Board of Directors (DPP) of Perempuan Bangsa has once again demonstrated its commitment to social action in the Jakarta region.

This time, the women’s wing organisation focused on the economic fighters at Pasar Tanah Abang, Southeast Asia’s largest wholesale market in Central Jakarta.

The aid distribution was led directly by the Chairwoman of DPP Perempuan Bangsa, Nihayatul Wafiroh. Her presence in the bustling Pasar Tanah Abang was warmly received by dozens of porters who depend daily on earnings from carrying goods.

On this occasion, Wafiroh stated that this action represents the continuation of Perempuan Bangsa’s consistent movement to be present amongst the communities most in need, particularly those working in the informal sector.

“We are grateful that today we can return to the field and directly greet the economic fighters at Pasar Tanah Abang. Porters are an important element in our economic ecosystem, yet their presence is often overlooked. Perempuan Bangsa wants to ensure that they do not struggle alone,” said Nihayatul Wafiroh during the distribution of basic provisions on Wednesday, 11 March 2026.

The Deputy Chair of Commission IX of the House of Representatives also emphasised that consistency is the key to this movement. According to her, social action must not stop at one point alone but must reach all layers of society facing economic hardship.

“Seeing the smiles of the porters today gives us energy to continue moving forward. This is not merely about the packages of basic provisions being distributed, but about recognising that their dedication in earning an honest livelihood is truly noble. We will continue to carry out similar actions at other points in Jakarta and throughout Indonesia,” she affirmed.

The activity proceeded in an orderly and smooth manner. The porters receiving assistance expressed gratitude, given the still-challenging economic conditions for daily casual workers at the shopping centre.

Through this action, DPP Perempuan Bangsa hopes to spark collaborative spirit amongst other elements of society to care for the fate of informal sector workers in the capital.
