Nightlife Raid in Cirebon: Three People Test Positive for Amphetamine
Cirebon City Police (Ciko) have detained three people who tested positive for amphetamine-type narcotics during a joint raid on nightlife venues. In addition to apprehending the drug abusers, officers also seized a quantity of alcoholic beverages from the location.
The raid, which took place in the Jalan Yos Sudarso area of Cirebon City, began on Sunday (23/8) at 00.00 WIB. The operation involved combined personnel from the Indonesian National Police, the Indonesian National Armed Forces, and the Cirebon City Civil Service Police Unit as part of efforts to maintain public order within the Ciko Police jurisdiction.
Head of the Cirebon City Police Narcotics Unit, Assistant Commissioner Shindi Al Afghany, explained that the operation was a preventive measure to curb drug abuse and monitor the circulation of alcoholic beverages in nightlife venues.
“We conducted thorough inspections of several areas within the nightlife venues. The checks were carried out to ensure there were no items or activities potentially linked to drug abuse or other violations,” Shindi said on Monday (24/8).
During the operation, officers checked alcohol sales permits, searched all rooms, and inspected the belongings of visitors and employees. In addition, officers required on-site urine tests for visitors and workers.
From the urine test results, three people tested positive for amphetamine. The three individuals were identified by the initials US, 22, a resident of Indramayu Regency; F, 20, a resident of Cirebon City; and L.AH, 27, a resident of Cirebon City.
The three individuals were immediately taken to the Cirebon City Police headquarters for intensive examination and further investigation by the Narcotics Unit. This step was taken to determine the next legal process in accordance with applicable regulations.
In addition to detaining the abusers, officers seized various types of alcoholic beverages found at the raid location. The evidence is now being held for further processing.
“We will continue to conduct examinations professionally and follow up on every finding in accordance with applicable legal provisions,” Shindi stressed.
