The Karawang Regency Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) has taken decisive action against a nightlife venue suspected of hosting same-sex parties that recently went viral on social media. The entertainment venue has been officially sealed, and its operational activities have been suspended temporarily.

“We have carried out a temporary sealing of Helen’s Night Mart because it is suspected of engaging in deviant activities,” stated Prasetya Wirabert, Head of the Regional Law Enforcement Division of the Karawang Regency Satpol PP, on Tuesday (9/6/2026).

Pras noted that although the venue holds an operational permit under the restaurant category via the Online Single Submission (OSS) system, authorities discovered several violations. Officers found evidence of same-sex activities on-site, as well as the sale of alcoholic beverages without a permit.

“This step was taken after we identified three main violations at the location. The first is the suspected activity involving same-sex couples (LGBT) that went viral; second, the proven sale of alcoholic beverages without a permit; and third, the Building Approval (PBG) documents for the building location have not yet been issued,” he explained.

Regarding the allegations of gay parties, Pras confirmed that the management has been summoned for questioning. The management did not deny the occurrence of the event.

“This matter is being handled by the police. We have clarified the situation with the management, and they have admitted to the occurrence of the event (the gay party),” he added.
