Jakarta (ANTARA) - Night running activities can serve as a means to raise awareness for communities affected by disasters.

“Through the Cibis Night Run 2026, we want to encourage the spirit of healthy living while simultaneously building social concern among workers, communities, and the general public. The theme ‘Run The Night – Share The Light’ represents the spirit that positive activities performed together can provide broader benefits for others,” said Markos Saman, Director 2 of Cibis Park, in an official statement in Jakarta on Monday.

Markos stated that collective sporting activities can be utilised as a space to merge healthy living with concern for the conditions of communities in need of support.

Night running also provides an opportunity for the public to participate in social actions through activities that are closely integrated with daily life and involve communities working together.

The event carries a social mission by raising support for communities affected by earthquakes in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) as well as forest and land fires (Karhutla) in several regions of Indonesia.

Humanitarian support is conducted through a donation programme with the Dompet Dhuafa Foundation acting as the partner recipient and aid distribution executor.

Information regarding the progress of the funds collected is shared through digital channels so that the public can monitor donation developments in real time.

The event, which has been running since 2022, is organised to celebrate National Sports Day while encouraging the adoption of an active and healthy lifestyle.

In addition to the run, the series of activities includes participant registration, entertainment, mini exhibitions, and prize draws.
