Night Immigration Operation Uncovers Moroccan Foreigner's Online Prostitution Practice in East Jakarta
The Class I TPI Jakarta Timur Immigration Office has uncovered allegations of misuse of a residence permit by a foreign national (foreigner) from Morocco suspected of involvement in online prostitution practices. The enforcement was carried out through cyber patrols and immigration supervision by the Intelligence and Enforcement Division of the Jakarta Timur Immigration Office.
The case revelation stemmed from information regarding the prevalence of online prostitution practices involving foreigners in the East Jakarta area. Following up on this information, officers conducted investigations and undercover purchases to confirm the perpetrator’s involvement.
On Tuesday (5/5/2026) around 23:15 WIB, officers conducted immigration supervision at one of the guesthouses in the East Jakarta area and secured a foreigner with initials AE (28), female, Moroccan national. AE is known to have entered Indonesia via Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on 7 April 2026 using a Visit Stay Permit.

Officers also secured several pieces of evidence, including one Moroccan passport, two contraceptive devices, cash amounting to Rp5.5 million, and two mobile phones containing electronic conversation histories related to online prostitution transactions.
Referring to Law No. 6 of 2011 on Immigration, the foreigner may be subject to Immigration Administrative Actions in the form of deportation and blacklisting as stipulated in Article 75 paragraph (1). AE is also suspected of violating Article 122 letter a regarding misuse of stay permit or engaging in activities not in accordance with the purpose of the stay permit, with a penalty of imprisonment for up to five years and a maximum fine of Rp500 million.
