Nigerian nabbed for 100g of heroin
JAKARTA: A Nigerian citizen was arrested for drug dealing at Petamburan II hotel in Petamburan, Central Jakarta, police said on Wednesday.
Chief of City Police Narcotics unit Adj. Sr. Comr. Anjan P. Putra said that the suspect, Nze Chukwudi John, was nabbed in front of room 208.
Police seized 100 grams of heroin from him, which was concealed in his underwear.
"We caught him by using another suspect as bait," said Anjan.
He said John was a drug trafficker known to swallow packaged heroin to avoid security checks when smuggling the drug into the country.
Police alleged that John had smuggled around one kilogram of heroin into the country and had sold most of the heroin in the capital, where he has been staying for two months.
John denied all allegations, saying that he was in Jakarta to sell textiles when police arrested him. -- JP
