JAKARTA. The investment outlook for the mineral downstream sector is projected to continue accelerating in the coming years. The Indonesia Nickel Industry Forum (FINI) estimates that nickel will remain a prime commodity attracting large capital flows, in line with the continued commitment to expansion and capacity development of domestic processing facilities. FINI Chairman, Arif Perdana Kusumah, revealed that the positive trend in investment realisation in the downstream sector has actually been visible since last year, in line with various government policies. “Downstream sector investment realisation in 2025 reached Rp584 trillion, or 43% higher compared to the previous year,” he said during the 2026 Indonesia Critical Minerals Conference series on Wednesday (3/6).
