Nickel Industries has been nationally recognised at the TOP CSR Awards 2026 for its commitment to sustainable education. The company secured two awards: the TOP CSR Awards 2026 #Star 4 in the Corporate Level category and the TOP Leader on CSR Commitment 2026 awarded to Justin Werner.

The awards were presented at a ceremony held at Raffles Jakarta on 25 May 2026, honouring the company’s integrated CSR initiatives aligned with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles.

During the evaluation, Nickel Industries showcased consistent social and sustainability initiatives, with its scholarship programme managed by the Wallacea Hijau Lestari Foundation highlighted as part of its long-term social investment strategy.

Muchtazar, Nickel Industries’ Head of Sustainability, stated the awards reflect the company’s dedication to building societal futures through education.

“We believe the best investment a company can make is in people. Through the Nickel Industries Scholarship Programme, we not only provide higher education access for youth in operational areas but also lay the groundwork for long-term human capital development that contributes to sustainable regional growth,” he said in a press release on Tuesday (26 May).

Launched in 2024 in partnership with Hasanuddin University, the scholarship targets high-achieving students from mining-adjacent regions, particularly Morowali Regency. It covers full four-year tuition, academic mentoring, and ongoing non-academic capacity building. To date, the programme has supported at least 20 students across the initial 2024 and 2025 intakes, with plans to expand annually to broaden social impact.

Harry Cahyono, Sustainability Project Lead for the scholarship programme, noted positive academic and developmental outcomes. “Scholarship recipients have shown high enthusiasm in their studies, consistently maintaining academic performance above minimum standards with an average GPA exceeding 3.00. One recipient has secured a one-year internship in Japan starting mid-2026, proving the programme’s local and global opportunities,” he added.

Muchtazar credited management support for the programme’s success, stating: “We highly appreciate Nickel Industries’ management for their commitment and full support in making this scholarship programme a success. Leadership backing is crucial for consistent, measurable progress and tangible impact on youth in operational areas.”

Through these awards, Nickel Industries reaffirms its commitment to not only operational performance but also creating sustainable social impact through education investment, human capital development, and youth empowerment. (E-3)
