Nick Reiner Requests Trust Fund Access to Hire Lawyer

Nick Reiner, son of filmmaker Rob Reiner, is seeking access to the trust funds established by his late parents, Rob and Michele Reiner.

As reported by The Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday (9/6) local time, Nick has submitted this request to re-hire lawyers to defend him in his upcoming criminal trial.

The 32-year-old has filed a petition for a will determination in Los Angeles to access $1.5 million held in a trust, which was scheduled to be distributed to him on his 30th birthday.

The trust regulations contain clear mandatory distribution provisions, stating that half of the value is to be given to the beneficiary at age 30, with the remainder at age 35.

However, Nick claims that he did not receive any distribution in 2023 when he turned 30.

Nick, the middle child of the Reiner couple, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances for multiple murders and the use of a deadly weapon.

Nick has maintained his innocence regarding the case and remains in Los Angeles, United States.

In January, prominent Los Angeles lawyer Alan Jackson withdrew from Nick Reiner’s legal defence after accepting him as a client shortly after the arrest.

His siblings, Jake and Romy Reiner, initially assisted in funding their brother’s defence but are no longer involved, resulting in Reiner being assigned a public defender.
