Foreign Nationals (WNAs) in Bali affected by flight cancellations due to the Middle East conflict escalation have been urged to immediately report to the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office.

“For passengers whose residence permits are about to expire or have already expired due to the flight emergency situation, they can immediately report to the Immigration Office or Immigration Service Counters at the airport to receive further guidance,” said Bugie Kurniawan, Head of the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office, in an official statement on Sunday (1 March 2026).

Bugie stated that this measure was taken as a precaution against potential overstay violations for foreign nationals affected by flight cancellations, preventing them from leaving Indonesia according to schedule.

“Immigration ensures that every case will be handled professionally and proportionally, whilst upholding the principles of legal certainty and public service,” Bugie said.

The Ngurah Rai Immigration Office also urged all prospective international passengers, particularly those on Middle East transit routes, to periodically check their flight status.

Flight status checks can be conducted through each airline’s official application and by coordinating with the airline before heading to the airport.

Separately, Gede Eka Sandi Asmadi, Communication and Legal Division Head of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, stated that several flights from the airport in Bali to the Middle East have been disrupted as a result of the US-Israel-Iran conflict.

“Due to airspace closures in several countries, we can report that there are several flight routes at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport experiencing flight delays and/or flight schedule adjustments,” he said.

By Sunday (1 March 2026) at 11:00 am WITA, four flights to the Middle East had been cancelled, whilst one flight was delayed.

Nevertheless, general flight operations and airport services at I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport in Bali continue to run normally, Gede said.

PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports), the airport’s operator, has coordinated with various agencies. This includes coordination with airlines to continuously update flight schedules and handle prospective passengers already at the airport.

Additionally, coordination is being conducted with AirNav Indonesia to monitor affected airspace and with security personnel to anticipate security situations at the airport.
