“We will not tolerate any foreign nationals attempting to violate Indonesian law,” said Bugie Kurniawan in Bali on Tuesday.

He explained that during the operation, immigration intelligence and enforcement officers conducted undercover monitoring in a foreign tourist enclave in Kerobokan Kelod, North Kuta sub-district.

Among those detained was a Nigerian national identified as AKC, an investor holding a limited stay permit (ITAS), who is suspected of establishing a fictitious company.

Another suspect, a Ugandan national identified as SM, also an ITAS holder, is believed to have used forged documents during the application process for a residence permit.

The immigration team also carried out cyber monitoring and uncovered an online prostitution network involving two Russian nationals, identified as KP and VB, who allegedly offered services through online platforms.

Officers later expanded the operation to the Kuta tourist area, specifically Poppies Street, in coordination with personnel from the Indonesian National Armed Forces Strategic Intelligence Agency (BAIS) and the Badung District Public Order Agency (Satpol PP).

In the busy tourist area, authorities detained six additional foreign nationals. Two Tanzanian nationals, identified as AFL and ATK, were found to have overstayed their permits.

Three Ugandan nationals, identified as CN, MN, and RN, were suspected of engaging in activities inconsistent with their stay permits. Another Nigerian national, identified as CA, was found to have an expired passport and is also suspected of using forged documents to obtain a stay permit.

Kurniawan said all individuals detained during the operation were taken to the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office for questioning and further investigation.

“Bali is an international destination that welcomes compliant foreign nationals. However, for those who violate the law, we will take firm action, including detention and deportation, to safeguard national sovereignty,” he said.

He added that similar operations will continue to be carried out across the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office’s jurisdiction, particularly in areas with a high concentration of foreign nationals, including Kuta, North Kuta, and South Kuta sub-districts in Badung District.

Kurniawan also encouraged the public to report any suspected violations of immigration regulations by foreign nationals through the Ngurah Rai Immigration Office hotline at 0859-4297-1991.
