Ngrombo Station in Grobogan Handles 10,000 Passengers During Late May 2026 Long Holiday

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) recorded a surge in public mobility at Ngrombo Station in Grobogan Regency, Central Java during the late May 2026 long holiday period extending until 1 June 2026. Luqman Arif, Head of Corporate Communications for KAI’s Daop 4 Semarang, stated that between 27 and 31 May 2026, the total number of passengers boarding and alighting at Ngrombo Station reached 10,167. Luqman noted a significant increase in passenger numbers during the weekend period. KAI detailed passenger numbers for the period as follows: Meanwhile, KAI Daop 4 Semarang provided 16,624 seats daily, operating 33 regular train services and 73 passing trains within the Daop 4 Semarang region. ‘Additionally, one extra train service, the Argo Anjasmara, was operated to accommodate increased passenger demand,’ said Luqman. KAI observed a trend of increased public mobility during religious holidays coinciding with weekends, as people used the time for family visits or leisure travel. ‘The weekend passenger surge highlights the public’s strong demand for reliable transport during religious holidays. Trains remain the preferred choice due to their comfort, safety, and punctuality,’ Luqman added. Luqman also listed long-distance trains favoured by passengers during this period, including Ambarawa Express, Airlangga, Blora Jaya, and Kedungsepur. Favourite destinations for passengers from Ngrombo Station (Grobogan) included Pasar Senen (Jakarta), Pasar Turi (Surabaya), Poncol (Semarang), and Tawang (Semarang). Three stations with the highest passenger volumes in the Daop 4 Semarang region during 27–31 May 2026 were: KAI Daop 4 Semarang urged the public to plan journeys carefully and book tickets via the Access by KAI app, kai.id website, or other official channels. Passengers were also advised to arrive at the station at least 30 minutes before departure.
