NGO volunteer drowns in Aceh

BANDA ACEH, Aceh: A non-governmental organization volunteer
was found dead on Sunday on the shore of Pulau Aceh islet in Aceh
Besar regency.

Local police chief Adj. Insp. Khairuddin said the volunteer
for Save the Children, Asadi Mukhtar, had drowned on Saturday
afternoon in high waves. His body was discovered at around 6;30
a.m. on Sunday.

Asadi, a native of Lhokseumawe, North Aceh, joined the NGO
three months ago. He had been at the islet for recreational
purposes with his two friends. -- Antara
