Ngadirejo Sugar Factory in Kediri Sets 200-Day Sugarcane Milling Period
Kediri (ANTARA) - The Ngadirejo Sugar Factory in Kediri Regency, East Java, has set a 200-day sugarcane milling period for the 2026 season, with a target to process up to 11 million quintals of sugarcane.
The General Manager of PG Ngadirejo, Kediri Regency, Wayan Mei Purwono, said the company had officially started the 2026 milling season with its first milling.
“Thank God, we are starting the 2026 milling season. The milling process will last for 200 days,” he said in Kediri, Friday.
According to the plan, during the 2026 milling season, PG Ngadirejo, Kediri Regency, will process 11 million quintals of sugarcane with a yield of 7.8 percent. From the milled sugarcane, it is targeted to produce 80,000 tons of sugar.
He said the sugarcane milling target in 2026 had increased compared to the 2025 target. In 2025, the target was 10.6 million quintals of sugarcane with a realization of 70,000 tons; now, it has increased. The achievement of this target is also expected to support national sugar self-sufficiency.
He also expressed optimism that the target for the 2026 milling season could be realized. The company has also partnered with farmers from upstream to downstream, so the harvest is also ensured to be good.
In addition, the government also provides support for good plant seeds, so that the quality of sugarcane is also good.
He added that the sugarcane raw materials are sent from farmers from the Kediri, Blitar, and Malang areas. The company has partners who send sugarcane to the factory.
In addition, during the 2026 milling season, the company also involves hundreds of people, both as workers and drivers, for the milling process.
He also apologized to the public that during the milling process, there would be many vehicles coming and going from the company, because this company is the only sugar factory in Kediri Regency located on a national highway.
Meanwhile, the Plantation Manager of PG Ngadirejo, Kediri Regency, Sabar, emphasized that his party is working with partner farmers by providing quality sugarcane raw materials (MBS).
With these quality sugarcane raw materials, it is hoped that the sugarcane can grow well and the results will also be good.
He is confident that with intensive coordination with partners, they can succeed in the 2026 sugarcane milling.
