Ngabuburit with Books: Mobile Library Serves Kediri Residents During Ramadan
Residents and children were seen reading books from a mobile library on the banks of the Brantas River in Kediri, East Java, on Saturday (21/2/2026).
The Kediri City Archives and Library Agency (Dinas Kearsipan dan Perpustakaan) is operating motorcycle-mounted mobile libraries across several public areas every day throughout Ramadan, from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM Western Indonesian Time (WIB).
The programme is designed to make books accessible to residents during ngabuburit — the popular Indonesian tradition of spending the late afternoon hours engaged in leisurely activities while waiting for the breaking of the fast at sunset.
