Next Phase in Andrie Yunus Case: Komnas HAM Questions Polda Metro for 3 Hours, TNI to Be Summoned
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The case of the acid attack on the deputy coordinator of KontraS, Andrie Yunus, has entered a new phase.
The National Human Rights Commission (Komnas HAM) sought information from the Metro Jaya Police regarding the case on Monday (30/3/2026).
Komnas HAM Monitoring and Investigation Commissioner Saurlin P Siagian stated that the summons aimed to ascertain the steps taken by the Metro Jaya Police in handling the incident that befell Andrie.
The information-gathering session lasted around three hours, from 10:00 to 13:00 WIB, at the Komnas HAM office in Menteng.
The session was attended by the Director of General Criminal Investigation (Dirreskrimum) of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Iman Imanuddin, along with several staff members.
From the meeting, Komnas HAM has collected several facts related to the handling of the acid attack case against Andrie. However, Saurlin has not detailed those findings.
According to him, Komnas HAM still requires additional data to complete the monitoring process.
“We believe we have gathered enough facts that we needed; several matters have been conveyed, and we are still requesting a few more items from the Metro Jaya Police to be submitted to us,” Saurlin said.
To Komnas HAM, the Metro Jaya Police also admitted to having submitted some documents required for the case handling to the TNI.
“The Metro Jaya Police side is still delving into the involvement of non-TNI parties. They are still conducting further investigation processes,” Saurlin stated.
After seeking information from the police, Komnas HAM plans to seek information from the TNI side in the near future, given that four TNI soldiers are suspected of being involved in this case.
“We will continue to monitor this case, and in the near future, we will summon the TNI side,” he explained.
Saurlin clarified that the summons is directed to the TNI institution. However, he could not yet confirm who would attend the examination.
