Newsprint price

Referring to The Jakarta Post, July 2, we would like to request you make several amendments to one of your articles entitled Press entering dark tunnel: Industry executive, as follows.

1. In the 11th paragraph, it is stated that the rupiah's depreciation has seen the newsprint price rocket from Rp 1,254 (8.5 U.S. cents) per kilogram in January 1997 to the most recent $505 per metric ton (Rp 7,450 per kilogram) since January this year. Please amend this statement using the following information:

* Rp 1,254/kg (exchange rate Rp 2,370/US$, $529/MT) in January 1997.

* Rp 7,450/kg exchange rate Rp 14,750/US$, $505/MT) in June 1998.

2. In the 13th paragraph, it is stated that a Korean company in which tycoon Mohamad "Bob" Hasan is a major stockholder supplies about half the domestic demand for newsprint. Please amend the word major stockholder to minor stockholder.
