Newly Inaugurated National Police Chief Suyudi Immediately Reshuffles Metro Jaya Regional Police Positions
Changes within the Indonesian National Police (Polri) occurred immediately after General Pol. Suyudi Ario Seto officially assumed office as the National Police Chief. Several strategic positions have shifted as part of a mutation detailed in a telegram from the National Police Chief.
One of the most prominent changes occurred within the Metro Jaya Regional Police (Polda Metro Jaya) ranks. The position of Chief of Metro Jaya Regional Police is now held by Inspector General Pol. Dadang Hartanto, replacing Commissioner General Pol. Asep Edi Suheri.
The mutation is outlined in the National Police Chief’s Telegram Number ST/22/X/KEP./2026, dated 2 October 2026. On the same date, the National Police Headquarters also held the handover ceremony for the position of National Police Chief from General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo to Suyudi.
Dadang is not a newcomer to the Indonesian National Police regional leadership. Before being reassigned to Jakarta, he served as the Chief of Maluku Regional Police.
Meanwhile, Asep Edi Suheri has been appointed to a new position as the Inspector of General Supervision (Irwasum) of the National Police. This position was previously held by Commissioner General Pol. Wahyu Widada.
Wahyu has subsequently been mutated to the position of Inspector of Itwasum Polri for an assignment within the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN). Changes also occurred in the position of Deputy Chief of Metro Jaya Regional Police. Inspector General Pol. Dekananto Eko Purwono was moved from that post and given a new assignment as the Chief of East Java Regional Police.
The position of Deputy Chief of Metro Jaya Regional Police will now be filled by Brigadier General Pol. Adex Yudi Setiawan. Previously, Adex served as the Director of Cyber Crimes (Dirtipidsiber) at the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri).
Dekananto will replace Inspector General Pol. Nanang Avianto as the Chief of East Java Regional Police. Nanang has received a new assignment as a Senior Widyaiswara (Instructor) at the National Police Education and Training Institute (Lemdiklat Polri).
This series of rotations is part of the mutation, rotation, and promotion of Indonesian National Police officers conducted by Suyudi after officially taking the top position in the Bhayangkara Corps.
With these changes, the command of the Metro Jaya Regional Police is now in the hands of Dadang Hartanto, while the deputy position has been entrusted to Adex Yudi Setiawan.
