Newly Granted Leave, Several Commuters Depart from Kampung Rambutan
Provinces that became destinations for commuters who could only depart today include Lampung, North Sumatra, Banten, West Java, and Central Java.
A commuter interviewed by ANTARA at Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Lidya, who resides in Bogor, West Java, is set to travel to Lampung today.
“Work, so I only got the leave now,” she said.
Ida, a commuter from Cibinong, West Java, heading back to her hometown in Palembang, South Sumatra, expressed a similar situation. She said she had to wait for the company’s holiday schedule.
“I only got the leave today, so I’m heading home straight away,” she said.
“I can only go home now because I’m waiting for my work holiday schedule; the past few days I was still working,” said Manda.
The head of Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Revi Zulkarnain, confirmed that on H-1 before Eid, the majority of passengers were dominated by short-distance destinations such as West Java, Banten, Central Java, and Lampung.
“Destinations on H-1 are dominated by short distances, such as Central Java, West Java, Banten, Palembang, and Lampung. For West Java, that’s Tasikmalaya, Cianjur, Garut; then Central Java: Tegal, Pekalongan, Purwokerto, Wonosobo; also Merak, Banten, and Pandeglang,” he said.
The atmosphere of the mudik flow at Kampung Rambutan Terminal, Jakarta, was observed to be relatively quiet on H-1 before Eid 2026, Friday, indicating a significant decline after the peak mudik flow that occurred a few days earlier. Revi explained that this declining trend had been evident since H-2 before Eid or Thursday (19/3).
Based on data from the management, the number of passengers departing from Kampung Rambutan Terminal from 00:00 WIB to 09:00 WIB was 325 people with 28 bus fleets.
On Thursday (19/3), the number of passengers dropped to 3,464 from the peak of 5,336 passengers on Wednesday (18/3).
