Newly Appointed Jampidsus Kuntadi Vows to Resolve Major Cases

The newly appointed Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus), Kuntadi, has immediately affirmed his commitment to resolving various major cases currently being handled by the Attorney General’s Office (Kejagung). Cases that are in the public spotlight will be prioritised for evaluation and expedited resolution. The statement was delivered by Kuntadi after being sworn in by Attorney General ST Burhanuddin at the Attorney General’s Office building in Jakarta on Friday, 24 July 2026. Kuntadi stated that his first step after assuming the role of Jampidsus would be to conduct internal consolidation while evaluating all ongoing case handling. “In accordance with the Attorney General’s directives, there are two matters of focus: carrying out consolidation, both internally and externally, and conducting evaluations,” Kuntadi said. According to him, the evaluation process will not only target ongoing cases but will also focus on major cases that have drawn widespread public attention and cases involving significant state losses. “We will evaluate all case handling, including cases that attract public attention and cases with substantial values,” he stated. Kuntadi stressed that the acceleration of case handling would continue to uphold the principle of professional law enforcement. He assured that integrity, objectivity, and transparency would serve as the foundation for every stage of the special crimes investigation. “The things we must safeguard most are integrity, objectivity, and transparency,” he said. Furthermore, Kuntadi noted that coordination with the Junior Attorney General for Supervision (Jamwas) would be strengthened in terms of oversight. Meanwhile, administrative support and technical control of case handling will be managed by the Jampidsus ranks to ensure the law enforcement process runs optimally. Kuntadi’s statement signals that several major cases currently under investigation by the Attorney General’s Office will proceed under his leadership, with a comprehensive evaluation serving as the initial step before accelerating their resolution.
