NEWLAB+ Clarifies Richard Lee No Longer Serves as Commissioner
PT Percepatan Sumber Berkah (NEWLAB+) has emphasised that Richard Lee no longer serves as Commissioner or holds any position within the company’s management structure. This clarification was issued following media reports continuing to name Dr. Richard Lee as part of NEWLAB+’s management team.
Owner and Chief Executive Officer of PT Percepatan Sumber Berkah (NEWLAB+), Meliani Muljoredjo, accompanied by Chief Operating Officer Yenny Laksana, explained that the change resulted from a mutual agreement between both parties.
“This transition was conducted based on a mutual agreement between PT Percepatan Sumber Berkah (NEWLAB+) and Dr. Richard Lee, which was motivated by differing visions in developing the company moving forward,” Meliani stated in an official announcement on Tuesday, 10 March.
She explained that the agreement to terminate the working relationship became effective as of 17 June 2025. The process was also carried out in accordance with applicable legal provisions.
The termination agreement, she continued, was witnessed by Notary Sugiarto S.H., M.Kn., M.H., and was documented in a Deed of Termination of Agreement signed by both parties.
Furthermore, she added, the company’s structural changes have been strengthened through Company Amendment Deed No. 12 and received approval from Indonesia’s Ministry of Law and Human Rights with registration number AHU-AH.01.09-0305543 dated 2 July 2025.
With these changes, according to Meliani, the company confirms that PT Percepatan Sumber Berkah (NEWLAB+) and Dr. Richard Lee currently have no affiliations or business relationships of any kind. This encompasses company structure, operational activities, investments and other business activities.
She stated that the company also emphasises that any activities, statements, promotions or actions undertaken by Dr. Richard Lee after the effective date do not represent and are outside the responsibility of NEWLAB+.
According to management, this decision represents part of normal business dynamics conducted professionally. Nevertheless, both parties remain committed to maintaining good relations and mutual professional respect going forward.
As previously reported, Richard Lee became a suspect in allegations of violations of health and consumer protection laws. He is suspected of selling cosmetic products that do not conform to their labelling, stemming from three problematic beauty products.
