Newcrest finds gold

SYDNEY (Reuter): Newcrest Mining Ltd said yesterday that
drilling at its Gosowong gold find in Indonesia had confirmed an
inferred resource at the site.

Newcrest said the prospect, located in an area where gold
mineralization was previous unknown, had now been tested by over
100 diamond drill holes and contains over 350 metres of the
exposed strike length.

Newcrest said an inferred resource had been calculated based
on assay data from 75 of the 100 holes outlining the deposit to
an approximate depth of 150 metres downdip.
