Newcomers to hold teaser exhibition

YOGYAKARTA: A group of four up-and-coming artists -- Danny Stamp,
II Made Bhakti Wiyasa, I Made Suparta Wijaya and I Gede Made
Surya Darma -- is to hold a three-day joint exhibition at Bale
Rupa Sanggar Dewata Indonesia in Tirtonirmolo village, Kasihan
Bantul, Yogyakarta.

Open from Aug. 22 to Aug. 24, the exhibition will feature
paintings, installations, videos and performance art documentary
videos created by the artists.

"As implied in the title, Warming up, we want to introduce
ourselves, our identities, through the exhibition before entering
the real art world. It's just like an athlete warming up before
going into a game to avoid unnecessary injuries," the artists
said in a statement.

Through the preliminary exhibition, they said, they hoped to
mature intellectually and creatively toward upcoming challenges
in their artistic careers. -- JP
