Newborn baby found dead

JAKARTA (JP): A newborn female baby, with a brown scarf around
her neck, was found dead in the Ciliwung river near Menteng Pulo
in Central Jakarta on Thursday afternoon.

Second Insp. Suyud, the Menteng Subdistrict police's head of
detectives, said that the corpse became hooked onto the fishing
line of Junaedi, 35, a resident of Menteng Pulo, who was fishing
at the location.

A shocked Junaedi told local residents about the corpse. They
then informed Menteng Subdistrict police.

The corpse was sent to the morgue of Cipto Mangunkusumo
General Hospital for an autopsy. Police are still investigating
the case.(04)
