New Zealand ships to visit Jakarta

The Royal New Zealand Navy (RAN) Leander Class frigate, HMNZS
Wellington and replenishment ship HMNZS Endeavour will visit
Jakarta from Thursday through Saturday.

The New Zealand embassy announced yesterday that the ships
will arrive for an operational visit.

HMNZS Wellington, which was commissioned in 1969, is one of a
number of Leander class frigates built for the Royal New Zealand
Navy while HMNZS Endeavour is the third ship to bear the name in
the Royal New Zealand Navy.

The Wellington has a ship's company of 21 officers and 212
ratings while the Endeavour has a much smaller complement of 12
officers and 30 ratings. (has)
