New Zealand Highlights Growing Indonesian Consumer Trend of Prioritising Food Quality
New Zealand is strengthening its collaboration with Indonesia in the areas of trade, food sustainability, and consumer welfare. The campaign is being held amid growing public awareness of food quality, ranging from safety and nutritional content to production processes.
This trend is considered to be influencing consumption patterns, especially in the modern retail segment.
“This initiative reaffirms our strong partnership with Indonesia and our commitment to providing trusted food for families,” said New Zealand Trade Commissioner for Indonesia, Cecilia Shand, in a statement on Friday (15 May).
The ‘New Zealand Made with Care’ campaign was officially launched on 15 May 2026, with an opening ceremony at Ranch Market Grand Indonesia. This event marks an important milestone in the long-term collaboration between New Zealand and Indonesia in the fields of trade, food sustainability, and consumer welfare.
The launch event was attended by government representatives, distribution partners, retailers, and several New Zealand brands that have entered the Indonesian market. This collaboration also serves as an effort to expand access to New Zealand food products in the domestic Indonesian market.
“Through this campaign, we are proud to showcase products that reflect values of care for people, the environment, and future generations,” Shand said.
Meanwhile, Chief Market & Business Intelligence at Ranch Market, Harman Siswanto, said that Indonesian consumers are now more selective in choosing food products, especially in terms of quality and origin.
According to him, this trend is driving the need for products that have clear and traceable production standards.
Harman said that this improved service meets customer needs and is in line with the commitment to provide the best choices with high curation standards.
“This campaign helps our customers choose products that align with their values regarding safety, quality, and responsible production,” he concluded.
