New Working Hours for SPPG Heads: Afternoon Shifts at 17:00 and Early Morning at 02:00

The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) has established mandatory working hours for the heads of Nutrition Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) within the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) kitchens, divided into two main sessions: afternoon and early morning.

BGN Head Sudaryono explained that the mandatory working hours for SPPG heads consist of an afternoon session for preparation from 17:00 to 19:00 WIB to supervise and ensure all ingredient preparation and production support facilities follow standard procedures. This is followed by an early morning session for processing from 02:00 to 08:00 WIB to directly accompany and oversee all stages of processing, portioning, and ensuring the food is ready for distribution.

“The working hours for the ASN PPPK Indonesia Development Driver Graduates (SPPI), or kitchen heads, align with the kitchen’s operational hours, because the BGN’s Key Performance Index (KPI) is the beneficiaries. The BGN provides a nutritional meal service to beneficiaries. Beneficiaries must receive MBG that is safe, nutritious, good, and clean, so SOPs must be strictly followed,” said Sudaryono in a statement quoted from the official BGN Instagram on Tuesday, 1 September 2026.

Sudaryono emphasised that the direct presence of SPPG heads in the field during these crucial times is key to ensuring the entire MBG production chain meets standards of hygiene, quality, and punctuality before reaching the beneficiaries.

As part of an effort to improve the governance of the MBG Programme, the BGN is also consistently training accountants within the SPPG to improve financial accountability reports for this priority national nutrition enhancement programme.

Sudaryono stressed that the purpose of this training is to ensure that the management of public funds within the MBG kitchens is credible and accountable.

“The goal of this training is to ensure that financial reports for the money you manage in all kitchens are transparent. The money you manage, cook, and distribute in the form of food to beneficiaries is public money, sourced from the people, and its accountability must be clear,” said Sudaryono.

The Head of BGN emphasised that any negligence in the accountability of the MBG Programme could lead to significant implications, including state losses, given that the BGN holds the largest State Budget (APBN) allocation from the Ministry of Finance.
