New Vespa Primavera and Sprint Models Launch with 180cc Engine at Same Price
JAKARTA — PT Piaggio Indonesia has officially launched five new models from its Vespa Primavera and Sprint line in Indonesia on Monday, 16 March 2026.
The models introduced include the Vespa Primavera, Vespa Primavera S, Vespa Sprint, Vespa Sprint S, and Vespa Sprint Tech.
The most significant change in this new generation is in the engine sector. All models now use the new i-get engine with a capacity of 180cc, an increase from the previous 150cc engine.
“For them, Vespa is not merely a mobility solution for moving from point A to point B, but a way to move with style and express themselves. In this context, they want to have a new way to express themselves differently,” said Marco during the launch event on Monday, 16 March 2026.
He explained that the 180cc engine provides increased power and torque, making the riding experience more enjoyable. Additionally, colour refreshes and new features are part of efforts to keep Vespa looking distinctive.
Marco also noted that this is the first Vespa to use a 180cc engine, and Indonesia is the first country to receive it. This step aligns with the company’s commitment to bringing innovation to consumers.
Notably, the engine capacity increase and features are not accompanied by a price increase compared to the previous model. According to Marco, consumers actually receive more upgrades at the same price.
Beyond the new engine, several other updates are evident in design and features. On the Vespa Sprint Tech, for example, it is equipped with a TFT dashboard, ambient light in the front area, and special finishing that emphasises its modern technological character.
Other updates include new wheels with dual-channel ABS brake system, new seat design, and updated side grille and muffler. Additional details such as front bag hooks and graphic elements have also been refreshed.
Meanwhile, the Vespa Primavera features a new round mirror, new dashboard, and updates to the front tie and mudguard crest. This model also receives new wheels and seat material with updated design and colour.
