New telephone cards

JAKARTA (JP): The government will soon introduce validated telephone cards to replace the current ones which turned out to have been falsified.

Director General of Post and Telecommunication Purawidjaja told reporters yesterday that the present phone cards will be replaced gradually during the next three to five years.

Purawidjaja said that the Ministry of Tourism, Post and Telecommunication had worked together with the state-owned PT Telkom and Securities Paper and Bank Notes printing company (Peruri) to develop the new telephone cards with a validation system.(09)
