The Jakarta Provincial Government, through the Education Office, has officially launched the new student admission (PMB) programme for free private schools. This programme for the 2026/2027 academic year provides students with the opportunity to attend school without the need to pay monthly tuition fees, enrolment fees, or certain regular levies.

All educational costs for this programme will be fully borne by the Jakarta Provincial Government. This educational assistance programme is implemented extensively across various levels, including primary school (SD), junior high school (SMP), senior high school (SMA), vocational high school (SMK), and special education schools (SLB).

Terms and Conditions of Registration

Prospective new students must meet several administrative requirements as per Jakarta Governor’s Decree Number 238 of 2026. Registration for this programme must be conducted offline by visiting the target private school directly between 15–29 June 2026.

According to the official regulations, the details are as follows:

  • Prospective students must be registered in the Jakarta Province Family Card (KK).

  • The Family Card must have been issued by the Jakarta Provincial Population and Civil Registration Office no later than 15 June 2025.

  • Age requirements and supporting data for each level refer to Jakarta Governor’s Decree Number 238 of 2026 regarding Technical Guidelines for New Student Admissions.

  • Applicants must ensure they are not currently enrolled in the target level at another school, evidenced by a signed statutory declaration.

  • Accepted students must comply with all applicable regulations of the receiving educational institution.

  • If a participant has been accepted and has completed re-registration, they are prohibited from participating in State School admissions, Joint Admissions, or other Free Private School programmes in the current or following year.

  • The implementation of Free Private School Admissions is free of charge and does not accept any fees from parents or guardians.

Selection Mechanism

If the number of applicants at a free private school exceeds its capacity, the organisers will implement a specific selection process. The selection indicators per level are as follows:

  • SLB (Special Education): The primary selection stage will be based on age, from oldest to youngest, followed by an assessment process.

  • SD (Primary School): Selection priority will consider age from oldest to youngest, followed by the order of registration time.

  • SMP, SMA, and SMK (Junior/Senior/Vocante High School): Selection is based on the average of report card grades (weighted at 70%) combined with the average score of the Academic Ability Test (TKA) (weighted at 30%). If scores are identical, a further selection based on age from oldest to youngest will be conducted.
