New songs for Charity Night

JAKARTA (JP): Songs composed in Bali by a team of
international songwriters will be heard in public for the first
time this evening.

Tonight's charity concert at the Jakarta Convention Center is
the culmination of the Pacific Music Rainbow event.

Alan Roy Scott, a member of the organizing committee, said
that the best eight songs composed during the event would be sung
at tonight's show.

More than 40 songs were produced in total, when dozens of
composers from the U.S., Indonesia, Hong Kong, the Philippines,
Malaysia, the United Kingdom and Germany got together in Bali on
Oct. 25. They finished their 10-day marathon composing session
yesterday and added final touches on the way to Jakarta.

The eight songs are One By One, to be sung by Brenda Russel
and Lisa Fischer; My Heart Keeps on Calling Your Name by Victoria
Shaw, Jack Blades and Tommy Shaw; Love Is All We Need by Irianti
Erningpraja, Cathy Dennis and Dave Gibson; Moonlight on the Water
by Harold Payne, Brenda Russel and Beth Hooker; Kau Selalu Di
Hatiku by Irianti Erningpraja and Trie Utami; Till You Give It
Away by Tommy Shaw; Open Your Heart (Bukalah Hatimu) by Lisa
Fischer and Dadang S. Manaf; and Pacific Harmony and Where Magic
Flies by all the songwriters, including the rock group,
Scorpions.

Saxophonist Dave Koz and guest stars Tommy Page and the Nelson
Brothers will also perform at the charity gala tonight. (jsk)
