New Samsat Office in Margonda, Depok, Officially Opened to Simplify Vehicle Tax Payments
A new Samsat office in Margonda, Depok, has been officially opened to boost motor vehicle tax compliance while simplifying services for the public. Depok Mayor Supian Suri inaugurated the outlet located in the Ruko Saladin area on Jalan Margonda Raya on Thursday (10/4/2026). The presence of this facility is expected to expand tax service access in one of Depok City’s strategic locations. In his speech, Supian expressed appreciation to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) for utilising seized assets for public benefit. “The existence of the Samsat outlet in this strategic location will greatly help improve service quality for Depok City residents,” Supian said, quoted from the official Depok City Government website. He added that the opening of this outlet is also a concrete step by the local government to encourage an increase in regionally sourced revenue (PAD). With easier access, the public is hoped to become more aware and compliant in paying motor vehicle taxes. This situation is a serious challenge that needs to be addressed through service expansion, including the opening of the new Samsat outlet. “This is our collective responsibility. The taxes paid by the public will return in the form of development and services for residents,” Supian stated. Meanwhile, the Head of the Revenue Information System Management Division of the West Java Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda), Dwi Agus Sulistyo, revealed that daily vehicle tax payment transactions in Depok City reach around Rp 1.5 billion. This figure comes from about 60 percent of taxpayers who have fulfilled their obligations. That means there are still around 40 percent of taxpayers who have not paid. “There are still around 40 percent of taxpayers who have not paid. We hope this Samsat outlet can be optimally utilised so that the public’s compliance rate continues to increase,” he said. The Depok City Government also emphasised that it will continue to collaborate with various agencies to resolve vehicle tax arrears issues. With this strategy, increasing taxpayer compliance will not only impact regional revenue but also strengthen funding for development and public services in Depok City.
