New Record for Omoda and Jaecoo, Selling 1 Million Vehicle Units in 3 Years
BEIJING – Omoda and Jaecoo have recorded a significant achievement in the global market. In a relatively short time, these Chinese-origin brands have successfully reached cumulative sales of 1 million units since their global debut in 2023. This accomplishment also positions Omoda and Jaecoo as one of the fastest-growing brands in the global automotive industry. CEO of Omoda and Jaecoo International, Shawn Xu, stated that this achievement sets a record in the history of the global automotive industry. Globally, the growth of Omoda and Jaecoo is supported by aggressive expansion into 69 markets with more than 1,300 dealers. In fact, by March 2026, their monthly sales had reached 60,000 units. Indonesia itself is one of the key markets. Its largest contribution comes from the Jaecoo J5 EV model, which has recorded consistent sales performance throughout the first quarter of 2026. In January 2026, J5 EV sales were recorded at 1,942 units, then increased to 2,926 units in February, and 2,775 units in March. This result makes it the best-selling electric car in Indonesia currently. Globally, the J5 EV also shows strong performance with sales of around 20,000 units per month over the nine months since its launch. The model is positioned as an electric SUV for modern lifestyles, both for daily urban use and outdoor activities. Looking ahead, Omoda and Jaecoo target annual sales of 1 million units by 2027. Various innovations such as VPD and AI Cabin will continue to be developed to provide a more personalised driving experience, especially for the younger generation.
