New Record for High-Speed Train: Whoosh Passengers Surpass 311,000 During Eid
The Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train has set a new record for total passenger volume during the 2026 Eid holiday. Kereta Cepat Indonesia China (KCIC) recorded a total of 311,472 Whoosh passengers during the Eid transportation period from 13-30 March 2026. “Amid the high mobility of the public, all operations ran safely, smoothly, and under control,” said KCIC General Manager for Corporate Secretary Eva Chairunisa in an official statement on Tuesday (31/3/2026). The number of Whoosh passengers during the 2026 Eid holiday increased by 7.06% compared to the same period in 2025, with a total of 290,935 passengers. The peak volume occurred on 24 March 2026, with a total of 24,315 passengers in one day. To support this high mobility, KCIC operated 1,088 Whoosh trips with an on-time performance rate of 99.4%. “The increase in passenger numbers during this year’s Eid transportation shows that Whoosh is increasingly trusted as the primary transportation choice,” Eva added. This increase in passenger volume was also driven by growing public trust in Whoosh services, support from promotional programmes such as Whoosh Value+, as well as increasingly complete facilities and services at stations and on board the trains. As previously reported by Kompas.com, the Whoosh Value+ promotion can be obtained by showing a Whoosh ticket, either e-ticket or printed ticket, at all participating partners. Furthermore, Eva stated that KCIC is committed to continuously maintaining service quality and ensuring a safe, comfortable, and punctual travel experience for all passengers in the future.
