New presidential staff chief vows stronger government programme support

President Prabowo Subianto appointed the retired army general as KSP chief in Jakarta on Monday, April 27, replacing Muhammad Qodari, who has been appointed head of the Government Communications Agency.

“I ask for the support of all KSP colleagues so we can work in synergy. We also pray for Mr. Qodari’s success,” Abdurrachman said during a handover ceremony at the Presidential Palace complex in Jakarta on Tuesday.

Qodari expressed confidence that Abdurrachman would enhance KSP’s performance through his experience and leadership.

“I am convinced that with Mr. Dudung’s experience, network, and leadership, KSP will become stronger. In my view, there is no one better to succeed me than Professor Dudung Abdurrachman,” he said.

He also reflected on his seven-month tenure at KSP, highlighting efforts to support the president and Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka in addressing strategic issues and overseeing priority programs.

“Although it was only about half a year, the experience has left a strong impression on all of us. We were tasked with overseeing the president’s priority programs,” Qodari said.

He added that his team focused on increasing public awareness of progress in several key initiatives, including the Red and White Village Cooperatives program, electrification, energy security, the Free Nutritious Meals program, school development, and the expansion of specialist doctor services.

Abdurrachman and Qodari were sworn in by President Prabowo at the State Palace alongside other officials, including Hanif Faisol Nurofiq as deputy coordinating minister for food affairs and M. Jumhur Hidayat as minister of environment.
