New postgraduate program at UI
JAKARTA (JP): The University of Indonesia's postgraduate department has announced the opening of a new sociology program.
The new program in social development management is offered to lecturers, journalists, members of non-government organizations and other practitioners wishing to attain better knowledge in applied sociology.
Major subjects, ranging from methodological research to social development planning, will be provided in the new program, which is designed for mid-career professionals.
The postgraduate department's spokesman Hadi Prabowo said the program is open to those having S1 degrees from various disciplines.
"Employees of state and private institutions are anticipated to join the program, because lectures at the university's campus in Salemba will be scheduled from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.," said Hadi.
Hadi explained that the opening of the new program raised the number of postgraduate programs at the university to 42.
Those interested in the new program this year are invited to get registration forms at the campus at Jl. Salemba Raya No. 4, Central Jakarta, and submit them by June 6.
"The program will be held over four semesters with a tuition fee of Rp 4.5 million and payment for campus facilities amounting to Rp 15,000 per semester," said Siti Djaroh, another official at the registration office. (03)
