New postgraduate program at UI

JAKARTA (JP): The University of Indonesia's postgraduate
department has announced the opening of a new sociology program.

The new program in social development management is offered to
lecturers, journalists, members of non-government organizations
and other practitioners wishing to attain better knowledge in
applied sociology.

Major subjects, ranging from methodological research to social
development planning, will be provided in the new program, which
is designed for mid-career professionals.

The postgraduate department's spokesman Hadi Prabowo said the
program is open to those having S1 degrees from various
disciplines.

"Employees of state and private institutions are anticipated
to join the program, because lectures at the university's campus
in Salemba will be scheduled from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.," said Hadi.

Hadi explained that the opening of the new program raised the
number of postgraduate programs at the university to 42.

Those interested in the new program this year are invited to
get registration forms at the campus at Jl. Salemba Raya No. 4,
Central Jakarta, and submit them by June 6.

"The program will be held over four semesters with a tuition
fee of Rp 4.5 million and payment for campus facilities amounting
to Rp 15,000 per semester," said Siti Djaroh, another official at
the registration office. (03)
