New plant for Indocement
JAKARTA (JP): PT Indocement Tunggal Prakarsa signed a contract yesterday worth US$229.5 million with Japan's Marubeni Corporation to build Indocement's ninth production unit in Citeureup, West Java.
Marubeni Corporation will install grinding mills from Japan's Kawasaki Heavy Industry; raw materials and coal grinding equipment from Germany's Krupp Polysius; and clinker equipment (pre-heaters, clinkers and clinker coolers) from Denmark's F.L. Smidth and Co, according to Indocement.
Indocement said yesterday the unit, with a production capacity of 2.5 tons of gray cement a year, was expected to start operating in 1999, taking Indocement's annual output capacity to 15.8 million tons. (jsk)
