New Ombudsman Chairman and Members Take Oath Before Prabowo
President Prabowo Subianto witnessed the oath of office for the new members of the Ombudsman of the Republic of Indonesia. Nine individuals have been appointed as members of the Ombudsman for the 2026-2031 period.
The oath-taking ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Central Jakarta on Friday (10/4/2026). The event began with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya.
It was then followed by the reading of Presidential Decree of the Republic of Indonesia Number 20/P of 2026 on the Appointment of Ombudsman Membership for the 2026-2031 Term.
“By God, I swear that to obtain this position, directly or indirectly, using any name or method, I have not given or promised anything to anyone. I swear to fulfil my duties as a Member of the Ombudsman to the best of my ability and as fairly as possible. I swear that in performing or not performing anything in this position, I will never accept, directly or indirectly, from anyone any promise or gift. I swear to uphold Pancasila and the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as applicable laws and regulations. I swear to maintain the confidentiality of matters known while fulfilling my duties,” stated the Ombudsman Members.
It is known that the names of the nine Ombudsman members for the 2026-2031 term were determined after a series of fit and proper tests by Commission II of the DPR RI.
The Ombudsman is a state institution with the authority to supervise the provision of public services, whether carried out by state and government organisers, including SOEs, regional SOEs, and state-owned legal entities, or private entities or individuals assigned to provide certain public services, partially or fully funded from the State Budget (APBN) and/or Regional Budget (APBD).
Here are the nine names who took the oath today:
Hery Susanto (Chairman兼member);
Rahmadi Indra Tektona (Deputy Chairman兼member);
Abdul Ghoffar (member);
Fikri Yasin (member);
Maneger Nasution (member);
Nuzran Joher (member);
Partono (member);
Robertus Na Endi Jaweng (member); and
Syafrida Rachmawati Rasahan (member).
