New OJK Leadership Outlines Key Priority Initiatives
THE newly elected Chair of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) Board of Commissioners, Friderica Widyasari Dewi, has unveiled a series of priorities that will guide her tenure. Friderica assured that these measures will be pursued collectively and collegially with other members of the OJK Board of Commissioners.
“First and foremost, our task is to safeguard the stability of the financial system, and that is our paramount priority,” Friderica told journalists at the House of Representatives Complex on Thursday, 12 March 2026. She stated that the OJK would continue to conduct assessments of the financial services sector, including monitoring the impact of current geopolitical conditions.
Secondly, Friderica said the OJK would seek to restore public confidence in the financial services sector, particularly in the capital market. Thirdly, the OJK would conduct deeper market analysis. According to Friderica, this step is important to support national economic development.
Fourthly, Friderica said she would promote innovation in the financial services sector without compromising consumer and public interests. “And equally important, this will be the responsibility of Hernawan and all of us of course—how we continue to advance improvements and optimisation within the OJK’s internal organisation,” she said.
The House of Representatives has approved the selection of Friderica and four other officials as members of the OJK Board of Commissioners. They are Hernawan Bekti Sasongko as Deputy Chair of the Board of Commissioners; Hasan Fawzi as Executive Head of Capital Market, Derivative Finance and Carbon Exchange Supervision; Adi Budiarso as Executive Head of Financial Technology Innovation, Digital Financial Assets and Crypto Assets Supervision; and Dicky Kartikoyono as Executive Head of Financial Services Business Conduct Supervision, Education and Consumer Protection.
“On Wednesday, 11 March 2026, through an internal Commission XI meeting, it was decided by consensus to approve five names as candidates for OJK Board of Commissioners for the 2026-2031 term,” said Commission XI Chair Mukhamad Misbakhun in his report during a plenary session at the House of Representatives Complex on Thursday, 12 March 2026. Parliament subsequently approved the selection of the five Board members.
