New National Police Chief to be Inaugurated This Afternoon, Suyudi Ario Seto to Champion 'Police with the Community' Movement

National Police Chief candidate Commissioner General Pol Suyudi Ario Seto is promoting the theme ‘Police with the Community’ as his leadership doctrine, should he be entrusted to lead the Indonesian National Police (Polri). Suyudi stated that this doctrine places the public at the centre of all policing duties.

He assessed that this approach is not intended to replace existing strategies, but rather to continue previous policies with certain corrections.

“The theme I am championing is ‘Police with the Community’, as a leadership doctrine and a direction for transformation that places the community at the centre of policing tasks. This presentation is structured into five parts: National Situation, Strategic Environment, Achievements and Public Voice, Polri Transformation Direction, and the First 100-Day Programme and Sustainability until 2029,” said Suyudi on Thursday (1/10/2026).

“‘Police with the Community’ is not merely a jargon that replaces the grand strategies of Renstra, Promoter, Presisi, or Polmas. It is a leadership doctrine that unifies all policies under a single orientation: the community,” he added.

According to him, a change in leadership within the Polri should not always be interpreted as starting all policies from scratch.

“I do not want every change of National Police Chief to be interpreted as starting from zero. The institution must be greater than its individual leaders,” he said.
