The XXX/Rinambora Military Regional Command (Kodam) in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) has been officially inaugurated. Alongside the inauguration of this new command, a large-scale recruitment drive for Indonesian Army (TNI AD) soldiers is underway.

The Commander of the 1615/East Lombok District Military Command (Dandim), Lieutenant Colonel Inf Hadiyansah, stated that Kodam Rinambora will establish various subordinate units. The formation of these units automatically increases the requirement for personnel, leading to a significant opening for Army candidates.

“Consequently, we will be conducting recruitment for a substantial number of soldiers. This large-scale recruitment is already underway at the district command level,” said Hadiyansah on Tuesday (6/10/2026).

Hadiyansah revealed that the requirement for Army personnel in NTB this year stands at 2,400 non-commissioned officers (bintara) and 22,000 enlisted soldiers (tamtama). This high demand presents a new opportunity, particularly for local youths aged 18 and above, to join the Indonesian Army.

Despite the large-scale nature of the recruitment, the selection and qualification processes for candidates remain unchanged. Hadiyansah emphasised that there are no special considerations in the recruitment process.

“The primary requirement is passing the tests. We do not offer special treatment; for instance, just because East Lombok is densely populated, it does not mean they will receive the most slots. That may or may not happen,” Hadiyansah explained.

Hadiyansah claimed that the number of applicants is quite high, with interest doubling compared to previous years. However, he declined to disclose the exact number of applicants.

“If you look behind us, there are young men here attempting to forge their futures as soldiers. We always remind them to maintain their health, as it is one of the essential requirements,” Hadiyansah added.
