New military chief in Sulawesi

UJUNGPANDANG, South Sulawesi: Army Chief Gen. R. Hartono swore
in yesterday Maj. Gen. Soelatin as the new chief of Wirabuana
Military Command overseeing Sulawesi.

Soelatin replaced Maj. Gen. Tamlicha Ali, who was recently
promoted as assistant to the chief of Armed Forces' general
affairs, Antara reported.

Meanwhile, the post of Wirabuana Chief of Staff was also
transferred from Brig. Gen. Tayo Tarmadi to Brig. Gen. Gunawan
Koswara, formerly chief of staff of Tanjungpura military district
in Kalimantan. Brig. Gen. Tayo Tarmadi will soon be appointed as
chief of the Siliwangi Military Command which is based in
Bandung. (rms)
