New Marina in Benoa Begins Operations, Can Accommodate 75 Yachts
A new marina in the Benoa Port area, Bali, has officially commenced operations with an initial capacity of up to 75 yachts, including luxury cruise vessels (superyachts) measuring up to 200 feet.
PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva (PSL), a subsidiary of PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) focused on port support services and integrated port area development, together with PT Marina Development Indonesia (MDI), has officially opened Dock B and Dock C at Bali Gapura Marina.
Located within the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH) at Benoa Port, Bali Gapura Marina is being developed as maritime infrastructure supporting the growth of the national yachting industry whilst strengthening Indonesia’s position as a premier sailing and maritime tourism destination in the Asia-Pacific region.
With the first two of a planned total of five docks now operational, Bali Gapura Marina will gradually increase its capacity to reach 180 yachts once the entire marina development is completed and fully operational, targeted for 2027.
The President Director of PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva, Faruq Hidayat, said the company continues to drive marina development through the provision of modern infrastructure, premium services, and strengthened operational and safety standards.
“The development of Bali Gapura Marina is part of the company’s commitment to delivering a world-class marina tourism hub that prioritises service quality, sustainability, and the use of modern technology,” he said in an official statement on Monday (27 July).
The development of Bali Gapura Marina is the result of synergy between PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva as the developer of the BMTH area and PT Marina Development Indonesia as the marina’s investment partner, developer, manager, and operator. This collaboration integrates infrastructure construction with international marina operating standards, commercial strategy, and long-term management.
“We are optimistic that this development can strengthen Indonesia’s competitiveness as a global maritime tourism destination, and in the future other internationally standardised marinas will emerge across Indonesia,” said Faruq.
Bali Gapura Marina is being developed as a maritime infrastructure asset with international operational standards and a sustainable business model. Marina Development Indonesia President Director Ulf Backlund said the company is not only focused on providing berthing facilities, but also on building a marina ecosystem encompassing operational services.
“As well as a user experience capable of supporting the long-term growth of Indonesia’s yachting industry,” he said.
Bali Gapura Marina provides infrastructure and services that support efficient yacht operations. The first two docks have been equipped with internationally standardised pedestals for electricity and clean water supplies, whilst the Welcome Station serves as the arrival and departure service centre.
The facility integrates Travel and Concierge services, a Tenant Lounge, CIQP services (Customs, Immigration, Quarantine and Port Authority), as well as seaplane check-in and check-out in one location. Through a one-stop service system, marina users can submit documents electronically before the vessel arrives, making the clearance process with Customs, Immigration, Quarantine and Port Authority (CIQP) faster, more efficient, and more transparent.
Going forward, Bali Gapura Marina will continue to equip the area with various supporting facilities, including a yacht club, yacht service station, retail areas, lifestyle facilities, and premium entertainment, as part of the development of the marina ecosystem and maritime tourism within the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub area.
