New Marina in Benoa Begins Operations, Can Accommodate 75 Yachts

A new marina in the Benoa Port area of Bali has officially begun operations with an initial capacity to accommodate up to 75 yachts, including luxury superyachts measuring up to 200 feet. PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva (PSL), a subsidiary of state-owned PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) focusing on port support services and integrated port area development, together with PT Marina Development Indonesia (MDI), has officially opened Dock B and Dock C at Bali Gapura Marina. Located within the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub (BMTH) at Benoa Port, Bali Gapura Marina is being developed as maritime infrastructure to support the growth of the national yachting industry while strengthening Indonesia’s position as a premier destination for cruising and maritime tourism in the Asia Pacific region. With the operation of the first two docks out of a planned total of five, Bali Gapura Marina will gradually increase its capacity to reach 180 yachts once the entire marina development is completed and fully operational, targeted for 2027. President Director of PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva, Faruq Hidayat, stated that the company continues to promote marina development through the provision of modern infrastructure, premium services, and the strengthening of operational and safety standards. ‘The development of Bali Gapura Marina is part of the company’s commitment to delivering a world-class marina tourism hub that prioritises service quality, sustainability, and the utilisation of modern technology,’ he said in an official statement on Monday. The development of Bali Gapura Marina is the result of synergy between PT Pelindo Sinergi Lokaseva as the developer of the BMTH area and PT Marina Development Indonesia as the investment partner, developer, manager, and marina operator. This collaboration integrates infrastructure development with international marina operational standards, commercial strategy, and long-term management. ‘We are optimistic that this development will strengthen Indonesia’s competitiveness as a global maritime tourism destination and that other international-standard marinas will emerge in Indonesia in the future,’ Faruq said. President Director of Marina Development Indonesia, Ulf Backlund, said the company is not only focused on providing berthing facilities but also on building a marina ecosystem that includes operational services and user experience to support the long-term growth of the yachting industry in Indonesia. Going forward, Bali Gapura Marina will continue to complement the area with various supporting facilities, including a yacht club, yacht service station, retail area, lifestyle facilities, and premium entertainment, as part of the marina ecosystem and maritime tourism development within the Bali Maritime Tourism Hub.
