Severe traffic congestion occurred on Jalan Sholeh Iskandar (Sholis) in Bogor City, West Java. The cause was the opening of a new mall. Observations by detikcom on Wednesday (22/4/2026) around 1:30 p.m. WIB showed congestion on Jalan Sholis towards Yasmin. The queue stretched almost to the Sholis underpass. Vehicles occasionally stopped while waiting for others to move forward. Queues also formed in both directions on Jalan Sholis. The head of the traffic substation at Bogor City Police stated that the congestion began around 9:00 a.m. WIB. It was attributed to the large number of people visiting the mall on its first day of operation. “There are many visitors inside and coming in and out, but mostly entering. The enthusiasm of the public to visit the new mall is high,” said Lukito when asked about the cause of the Sholis road jam. “Indeed, with the new mall, it’s crowded with people coming, so many drivers are slowing down to look left at the crowds. Today is the launch, since 9 a.m.,” he added. Lukito said that several traffic officers from Bogor City Police were at the scene to ease the congestion. He advised business owners to adjust timings and prepare parking solutions during peak visitor times. “There are already officers on site helping to smooth the flow in front of (the new mall). It’s starting to clear up now,” said Lukito.
