Bisnis.com, Jakarta – The consolidation of investment managers owned by state-owned banks into Danantara AM has unveiled a new landscape regarding the direction of competition in Indonesia’s investment management industry. Amid the strengthening dominance of large players post-consolidation, the position of private investment managers is expected to face tighter competitive pressures. In its official announcement to the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), the three state-owned banks have approved the merger of their investment managers into Danantara Asset Management (DAM). Danantara is said to integrate the subsidiaries of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBRI), PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk. (BMRI), and PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk. (BBNI) operating in the investment management field.
