New KA Sangkuriang Route from Bandung to Banyuwangi with 50% Ticket Discount

Good news for land travel enthusiasts. Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI Persero) has introduced a new service for KA Sangkuriang on the Bandung-Ketapang, Banyuwangi route. KA Sangkuriang 7044A on the Bandung-Ketapang route will commence operations on 1 May 2026, while the return route from Ketapang to Bandung (KA 7043A) will start on 2 May 2026. “With the direct route from Bandung to Banyuwangi, customers can now enjoy a more efficient journey without needing to change trains,” said KAI Vice President of Corporate Communication Anne Purba in an official statement on Monday (20/4/2026). This route, according to Anne, opens up broader access for the public to explore various tourism potentials, including nature, cuisine, history, and culture. The KA Sangkuriang Bandung-Ketapang route is scheduled to depart from Bandung Station at 14:45 WIB and arrive at Ketapang Station the next day at 06:52 WIB. KA Sangkuriang provides a variety of service class options, from Economy, Executive, to Suite Class Compartment, designed to meet customer needs with different levels of comfort. Ticket prices for KA Sangkuriang Bandung-Ketapang are set at Rp500,000 for Economy class, Rp750,000 for Executive, and Rp2.5 million for Suite Class Compartment. Interestingly, to celebrate the launch of this new route, a 50% discount promo for KA Sangkuriang Bandung-Ketapang tickets is available and not to be missed. These promotional tickets can be obtained through the Access by KAI application as well as other official sales channels. “We hope that the presence of KA Sangkuriang will become the primary choice for the public in intercity travel by train,” Anne concluded.
