New Jampidsus to Replace Febrie Adriansyah to be Decided Within 1-2 Days

Minister of State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi has revealed that a new Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) to replace Febrie Adriansyah will be announced shortly via a Presidential Decree. He added that President Prabowo Subianto will soon sign the decree to appoint the definitive Jampidsus official. The proposed name for the replacement has been submitted by the Attorney General to the President and has undergone discussion in accordance with the Final Assessment Team mechanism. “We reiterate that last week the Attorney General officially sent a letter to the President regarding the proposed name for the Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes official, as the previous officeholder had submitted a resignation some time ago,” said Prasetyo Hadi at the Presidential Palace press room in Central Jakarta on Tuesday, 21 July 2026. According to Prasetyo, the deliberation process has now entered its final stage. The President is scheduled to sign the Presidential Decree appointing the new Jampidsus imminently. “At that time we also requested time for discussion according to the final assessment team mechanism, and God willing, within one or two days there will be a decision and the President will sign the Presidential Decree appointing the new official,” he stated. When asked whether the decree would also cover several other strategic positions within the Attorney General’s Office, including the Deputy Attorney General, Prasetyo was not yet willing to disclose details. “As we have conveyed, there are indeed several names proposed, but we ask for your patience until tomorrow after the decree is signed, so that it becomes a decision first before we convey it to our media colleagues and the public,” he said. Prasetyo also noted that the President has not yet given specific directives to the definitive Jampidsus candidate. However, he assured that a message from the Head of State will be delivered after the official is formally inaugurated. “A special message from the President for the new Jampidsus? Not yet, not yet. But in due course, there will certainly be special messages from him,” he remarked.
