Jakarta has further strengthened its medical technology-based healthcare ecosystem with the presence of Toto Tentrem Hospital in the Tebet area, South Jakarta. The health facility officially began operations after being inaugurated by Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung on Monday (24/8/2026).

Toto Tentrem Hospital specialises in stem cell services and regenerative medicine. In his remarks, Pramono Anung expressed appreciation for the presence of this international-standard hospital, which adds to the long list of health facilities in the capital.

“The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government has gained an extraordinary additional hospital, actually of international standard, specifically in the field related to stem cells,” said Pramono.

He added that Jakarta currently has a total of 196 hospitals, 31 of which are owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government.

Pramono encouraged medical innovations such as stem cells not to be dominated solely by the private sector. He opened opportunities for collaboration between Toto Tentrem Hospital and regional-owned hospitals, such as Tarakan Regional General Hospital, to develop similar services. This step is expected to increase Jakarta’s competitiveness in the medical tourism industry.

The inauguration was also an interesting moment because it was attended by former Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan. Anies’ presence was closely related to the history of the hospital’s construction, where the groundbreaking process was carried out on 26 September 2022 while Anies was still in office.

Founder and Owner of Toto Tentrem Hospital, Dr. Purwati, explained that the hospital collaborates with the Asia Stem Cell Center. In addition to curative treatment, stem cell services here are also directed towards disease prevention.

Beyond technological sophistication, Toto Tentrem Hospital carries the concept of a “Healthy Home” with a hotel-like interior design. This aims to make patients feel more comfortable and not feel as though they are in a rigid medical environment during the healing period.

“It is hoped that it can provide services to the community in need, not only curative; stem cells and their derivatives can be directed more towards prevention of disease,” concluded Purwati.
